Some days your hair just needs a little refresh.

Hair Veil is a lightweight hair perfume that leaves your strands smelling fresh, clean, and effortlessly put together without weighing them down. A few spritzes are all it takes to bring your hair back to life between wash days, after the gym, or before heading out the door.

Because sometimes feeling put together starts with the little things.

INGREDIENTS

Ingredients (INCI): Water (Aqua), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Fragrance (Parfum), Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid.

Water (Aqua) is the foundation of Hair Veil, acting as the carrier that allows the rest of the ingredients to disperse evenly. We use purified distilled water because it’s free of minerals and impurities that could affect product stability.
Why we use it: It creates a lightweight, refreshing mist instead of an oily finish.
What to know: Water-based formulas require preservatives to remain safe because bacteria, mold, and yeast thrive in water. That’s why you’ll always see a preservative system in products like this.

Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water is a botanical distillate made from the leaves and bark of the witch hazel shrub. We use an alcohol-free witch hazel water to provide a refreshing feel without the drying effects associated with alcohol-based varieties.
Why we use it: It helps refresh the hair between wash days without leaving buildup, making Hair Veil feel clean and lightweight.
What to know: Some people with very sensitive skin or scalps may find witch hazel drying, especially at higher concentrations or when alcohol is present. That’s why we chose an alcohol-free version.

Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside is a gentle, plant-derived ingredient made by combining glucose from plant starches (typically corn) with fatty alcohols sourced from coconut or sustainably sourced palm kernel oil. Its job isn’t to cleanse your hair—it’s to help water and fragrance stay evenly blended.
Why we use it: It keeps the fragrance evenly dispersed throughout the formula, so every spray delivers the same scent without separating.
What to know: Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside is biodegradable and known for its gentle profile. While it’s commonly used in cleansers because of its mild cleansing properties, it’s included in Hair Veil solely as a solubilizer—not as a cleansing ingredient.

Fragrance (Parfum) is what gives Hair Veil its signature scent. It’s created by blending many individual aroma ingredients into one finished fragrance designed specifically for cosmetic use.
Why we use it: Hair Veil was created to refresh your hair between wash days and leave behind a soft, lasting scent. The fragrance is the heart of that experience, turning a simple hair mist into a finishing touch you’ll look forward to using every day.
What to know: Fragrance formulas are proprietary, which means the exact blend isn’t publicly shared—even with us. Instead, we receive detailed safety documentation from our supplier, including IFRA compliance and allergen information, so we can make informed decisions before bringing a fragrance into a Houses of Eden product. We keep this documentation on file and are happy to share it with anyone who’d like to learn more.

Tocopherol (Vitamin E) is a naturally occurring antioxidant most commonly sourced from vegetable oils such as sunflower or soybean. In cosmetic formulations, it’s valued for helping protect ingredients from oxidation and maintaining product quality over time.
Why we use it: We include Vitamin E to help support the stability and freshness of Hair Veil throughout its shelf life.
What to know: Vitamin E is often associated with skin and hair nourishment, but in this formula its primary role is to help protect the product itself from oxidation rather than serve as a conditioning ingredient.

Phenoxyethanol is a widely used cosmetic preservative that helps protect water-based products from bacteria, yeast, and mold.
Why we use it: We use Phenoxyethanol to help keep Hair Veil safe and stable from the first spray to the last.
What to know: Because Hair Veil contains water, an effective preservative system is essential. Phenoxyethanol is one of the most thoroughly studied preservatives used in modern cosmetics and is considered safe when used within established regulatory limits.

Caprylyl Glycol is a multifunctional ingredient derived from plant-based fatty acids. It supports the preservative system while also contributing to the feel of the formula.
Why we use it: We use Caprylyl Glycol to boost the effectiveness of our preservative system and help Hair Veil maintain its lightweight, elegant finish.
What to know: Although it has moisturizing properties, its primary purpose in this formula is to support preservation and overall product stability.

Sorbic Acid is a preservative originally discovered in the berries of the rowan tree, though cosmetic-grade Sorbic Acid is now manufactured for consistency and purity.
Why we use it: We use Sorbic Acid as part of our preservative system to help protect the formula from yeast and mold throughout its intended shelf life.
What to know: No single preservative protects against every type of microorganism. Sorbic Acid works alongside other preservatives to create a more complete preservation system.

how to use

Mist lightly onto dry hair from about 6–8 inches away, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Use Hair Veil as the finishing touch to your routine, after styling, between wash days, or anytime your hair could use a little refresh. Reapply throughout the day as desired.

🌿 Founder Secret: Spray Hair Veil onto your hairbrush before brushing through your hair for a softer, more even scent that lingers beautifully throughout your strands. It’s one of our favorite ways to wear it.
